JAQ Rabbit Tales - Jason A. Quest

In 2013 I wrote a 4-page story for an all-ages comic book anthology focusing on the problem of school bullying, discrimination, homophobia and racism. Of course, as you can imagine, dozens of writers and artists were compelled to participate in what, at first glance, seemed to be a promising initiative. One of them was Jason A. Quest, a very active member of the BleedingCool message boards.

I had never met Jason nor had I talked to him online, save for an occasion or two. However, very slowly, I started considering him as an old acquaintance. Certainly, we had participated in the same anthologies, and we even had made contributions to successful Kickstarter campaigns, such as The Young Protectors (by the fabulous creative team of writer Alex Woolfson and artist Adam DeKraker).

A year later, in 2014, I finally had the chance to peruse the pages of the aforementioned anthology, quite unexpectedly, I stumbled upon the 2-page story illustrated by Mr. Quest. Even if I only had a handful of panels to make an assessment, it was clear to me, that this was a man of considerable talent.

At around the same time, I was desperately looking for ways to finance my own comic book: Un-American Chronicles (which can be acquired and read in its entirety HERE), Jason showed up out of nowhere, like a gallant knight, and made a generous contribution to my cause.

Ever since then I’ve been trying to concoct a proper way to thank him, but it never occurred to me that sometimes, the easiest way to express gratitude, is by simply sharing a link. In 2015 I found Jason’s most personal project: his JAQ Rabbit Tales.

Every Monday Jason shares with us very amusing autobiographical anecdotes. With his erotic, audacious and uncensored stories, Jason proves to be a magnificent writer (assisted by truly outstanding artists such as Zlatan Marić, Rick Worley and Drubskin). He defines himself as a “comix creator, heretic, pornographer, fantasist”, and I would like to add to that list “tremendously creative”. Congratulations, Jason, for delighting your readers with such an amazing webcomic!
